About the Program
Offered in collaboration with the Lassonde School of Engineering and Ä˘ą˝´«Ă˝ School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD.
Interested in both tech and creativity? Our Digital Media program is a unique combination of art, science and innovation that prepares you for exciting careers in the gaming and digital world. In this program, you’ll explore the intersection of creative expression and cutting-edge technology, think video game design, sound, virtual reality, data visualization and interactive installations. With access to specialized labs, expert faculty and Toronto’s vibrant digital media scene, you’ll develop the skills to shape the future.
All students begin with an 18-month common core and then select one of three streams in the areas of (1) Digital Media Game Arts, (2) Digital Media Arts, and (3) Digital Media Development.

Maintaining your offer of admission to this program requires a final academic average of 78%, calculated using the required courses below:

Applied Learning Opportunities
Gain real-world experience, build marketable skills and apply theories learned in the classroom through Experiential Education (EE) at York. These hands-on learning experiences can occur within a course, community, or work/professional setting and include opportunities such as co-op, internships, practicums, placements, capstone projects, field courses, community-based research or case competitions that happen in a class. During your degree, you will deepen the learning objectives of a course or program, apply knowledge and be better prepared for the job market after graduation.
