About the Program
Turn your ideas into original, innovative works! The Theatre – Performance Creation BFA is designed for students who want to explore multiple roles in theatre and performance. Through hands-on, studio-based courses ranging from acting and devising to playwriting, design and directing, you’ll learn how ideas move from concept to the stage.
You’ll create, experiment and collaborate through solo, small-group and large ensemble projects while developing your own artistic voice. The program prepares you to work across the theatrical creative team as a creator-performer, director, designer, dramaturg, playwright and more.
Throughout the program, you’ll apply your learning in small ensemble projects, solo creations, and large-scale productions, gaining hands-on experience in every stage of the performance-making process.

Applied Learning Opportunities
Create and produce original work through solo projects, small-group collaborations and large ensemble creations. You’ll collaborate with students across Acting & Performance and Production & Design, gaining practical experience in how performances move from concept to stage. Connections to Toronto’s theatre community bring opportunities to attend professional productions and learn directly from working artists, directors, designers, playwrights and other creative professionals. Guided by faculty who are active in their fields, you’ll build the creative, collaborative and leadership skills needed to develop and launch original work.
