About the Program
Understand how business shapes the world around us. In this program, you’ll explore the connections between business, government and society, and how they affect issues like inequality, sustainability and global development. You’ll take an interdisciplinary approach, combining ideas from economics, politics and social sciences to better understand real-world challenges. You can also focus your studies in areas like corporate social responsibility, environmental issues or the global economy. If you’re interested in making business more ethical, sustainable and socially responsible, this program prepares you to do that.

Applied Learning Opportunities
Build practical experience through optional paid co-op, placements and applied projects that connect business to social impact. Honours students can complete a paid 4- to 16-month internship, gaining hands-on experience, industry contacts and professional skills. Students in the social economy stream also take a fourth-year practicum, working directly with community and social sector organizations. Through experiential learning across courses and extracurricular activities, including the Business & Society Student Association, you’ll apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, develop career-ready skills and prepare for diverse roles in business, non-profit and public sectors.
