About the Program
Physics seeks to understand of all forms of energy and matter. It is a foundational science that bridges mathematics and engineering. In our Physics and Astronomy program, you will develop skills in physics, astronomy, and computer-based physics. Many of our students often use the Allan I. Carswell Observatory, which features the largest telescope on any Canadian university campus.
You can pursue a four-year Honours Bachelor of Science or a three-year Bachelor of Science and choose one of streams: Physics, Applied Physics, or Astronomy and Astrophysics. You may also have the chance to participate in research projects led by our professors. Opportunities for research experience include our EXPLORE course and the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada's (NSERC) summer program.
